Lately, we’ve been receiving a lot of calls inquiring about eyeliner tattooing. This is another form of permanent makeup that involves tattooing dark pigments on the lash line of the eyes to create a semi-permanent eyeliner effect.

Unfortunately, the state of Georgia does not allow anyone to tattoo within one inch of the eye, with the exception of eyebrow tattooing. That means that tattooing eyeliner is illegal in this state. You can find this ruling in the new Rules and Regulations of Body Art that went into effect on October 6, 2023 by the state health department.

Although some artists in GA may still be providing permanent eyeliner tattoo services, they are doing so illegally and therefore their insurance will not cover the cost of any incurred expenses due to botched work, allergic or negative reactions, or any damage that could be caused by the procedure.
